In other exciting news, Remember that one time my adorable boyfriend decided to be a missionary? No? You can read about it right here. Well he turned in his papers this week! On Thursday night. He had gone home for a final dentist appointment and texted me to tell me what he was doing. When he actually said (Texted) the words, "I turned in my mission papers. I'm going for 2 years." I kind of freaked out. I may have cried. Shhh... Don't tell anyone. I don't think it helped that we had had a chat about it finally a few days before and finally talked about how we were feeling about all this. Then it happened. He said he had a panic when it finally all hit him and he couldn't do it then finally his sweet mom counted him down and he finally pushed it. So! His papers are in, he has a meeting with the bishop on sunday then a meeting with the Stake President. But we don't know when that is. But that means that he could have his call in 2 weeks! TWO WEEKS. Good grief guys.
In other but kind of the same news, he had to get his missionary haircut for his picture to be sent in. He looks so freaking cute guys. Yeah. I know you blog readers don't care. Bu seriously, he looks so freaking cute. Every time I look at him I just get this big smile because it's like he is a whole new kid. Keep in mind that I've known this kid since 7th grade, 8 years and I have NEVER seen his hair this short. Ever, There will be pictures of this later but here is a before...
In other news! Today, we went to the Festival of Colors, we being Mike and me and Taylor or Pizza and Ellen or Schmellen.
They were our couple buddies in high school and it was just fun having friends dating friends. Anyway, the four of us made the trek through ridiculous traffic to Spanish Fork for this.
It's a celebration to bring in Spring time and Love. Everyone is like high on love (unless they are actually high..) They all just give out free hugs. It is crazy. It is held just outside their temple which is gorgeous and really awesome. Something you don't see in Utah like ever.
That picture was about 5-10 minutes within finally getting there. Lets rewind.
We left at about 11:30 and got there at probably 1:30. Yeah.
So in this long car drive, we were all entertained with these...
Mario and Luigi. They wore these all the way to the festival and on our way to the temple.
We walked like 4 miles from where we parked. And on our way up there everyone, almost literally, everyone said something about liking their mustaches. It was hilarious and a little annoying.
Due to the mustaches, he people leaving the festival who still had color to spare couldn't help but throw it at us. Mike didn't like that.
| How cute is that hair?! |
We stayed for the organized throwing (that's what you see in the video)
It was a really cool thing to watch but not that cool when it turns into a giant fog cloud of brown chalk. It went right up your nose and just everywhere. It was hard to breathe. So we left really quick after that since we were already covered. We made the trek back to our car with everyone and their dog. There were some champs there for sure.
We got back and kind of cleaned up as best as we could and took the two hour ride back home.
All in all, it was a long trip for a short time there, but I promise you it is totally worth it! Completely. If you live in Utah and haven't been, Go. They do it every year and it's a blast.
Very much worth it.
