Day 24

Something you've learned

Well, obviously I've been in school since I was 3 or 4. During that time I learned to read, write, basic math and all that in Elementary school. Through Junior high and High school I learned vocabulary, grammar, how to read music, Spanish, History, Earth Science and Biology. I even learned Sign language, solfege, and how to play piano.

But also through school I learned social skills. I learned how to pick up on the cues when someone is left out or mad or whatever. I learned what is appropriate to say and what not to say. I learned basic manners and about our culture.

Then through moving 6 times, I learned to make friends, to find those who are similar to me so we can both enjoy each others company. I learned how to have the confidence I need to be approachable. Also I learned how to just be nice.

Through high school, I learned that you don't always have to be top dog, just do what makes you happy. For me, I learned that was music and choir. I learned how to be helpful and be organized. I learned how to be self sufficient, and be responsible.

In college, I learned the importance of saving money. I learned how to make a home and keep that home clean. I learned how a curfew wasn't always a bad thing, I learned how to deal with living with people I've never met. And also how to keep those strangers happy an comfortable in their home. I also learned how to be independent.

Recently, I've learned how to say goodbye, how to grow up and be in the real world. I've learned how to keep myself busy and fill my time in a day. I've learned how to deal with children that are hard to deal with. I've learned that not everything is always what it seems, also that when life seems perfect, you get a reality check. 

I've learned the importance of good friends but also how to give those friends their space to grow up and figure out life for themselves too. I've learned to love my family and appreciate each of them. I've learned the importance of a home and where you've grown up and how nice it is to be in a comfortable space. 

I've learned how much fun it is to blog and write down everything and them be able to go back and look at all of it and how much I've grown in the last year and everything I've done.
