Little Piece of Paris

As promised, here is a quick tour of my newly designed bedroom.
I wish I could do something cool and give you DIY instructions but the truth is I did not DIM {Do it Myself} I had lots of help. I did none of the major things. So I'll do what I can.

Special thanks to
Chelsea for doing the sewing,
Stetson for help painting
Stets, Brandon and Miles for their muscles in moving things back and forth
and mostly my ever so talented Mom who pulled the whole thing off in less than 24 hours.
Thanks everyone!

The mains.

First of all, my walls were poop brown before this redo. That is the biggest change. Also, for the first time in 9 years, Pink is not my signature color. I caved and went with red. And turquoise of course.
Also, I had a Paris themed room through Jr. high and high school. {Pink and Green of course} I was more than ready to bring it back.
My aunt sewed the striped bedspread for me. The back is red, and actually just a red bed sheet. So it is still nice to sleep with.
{The fabric for the bed spread and the black and white pillows were purchased at Ikea}

Also, take a look at my new turquoise curtains. {also purchased at Ikea} They are great! And keep the cold Logan air from blowing into my room during the day!

The "Paris" canvas was a gift for Christmas but I'm pretty sure it was from Target.

This is probably my favorite thing I've ever made. It was an idea from Pintrest.
All I did was get an old frame that wasn't going to make our move over the summer and painted in Turquoise. Then, I put nails in the back and twirled jewelry wire around each one.
I have 4 parallel rows of wire.
I bought the tiny clothespins from Wal Mart and spray painted them white.
Then viola! I clip pictures up, trimmed to the size I decide and it is so easy to change out.
I adore pictures and this has been a great conversation started with lots of people.

Each of these boards serves a different purpose for me. The middle one is a cork board and the other two are both magnet boards. The first is covered in a map purchased at Micheal's {with France in the middle-obviously} and stuck onto the magnet board with spray adhesive. The last is just red and white checked fabric also stuck on with spray adhesive.
These three are very helpful in college! I always have dates to remember and I always stick them up there so I see them as I walk out the door.

Then of course my Eiffel Tower lamp that I've had for years sits on my desk and during the day leaves a lovely shadow on my wall that I love!

So there ya go! My new bedroom that I can't get enough of!
