Days of Labor

Labor day weekend for most college students would mean head home for some free laundry and home cooked meals. Not for us! We were planning on going home but when we realized how much was going on we knew we had to stay. As you saw before, this weekend started off with a bang! See Everybody Cut Footloose.

Then, as mentioned we went to the "Man vs. Mud" and watched, well waited for Mike and Kyle to run this 5K through the mud and wetness. Now, being the smart boys they are they had told us two different times to be there. 2 and 3. So, to be safe we went at 2. We waited at the finish line for an hour. Now at any other race this would be sooo boring. But at Man vs. Mud, that is not the case. This finish line was a giant slip and slide into a giant mud pool. It was awesome. Then they proceeded to have to army crawl through the mud and then get their picture taken. It was funny every time someone went down. Now we waited for Mike and Kyle for an hour. Then they started the race again so we started watching people go down the first slip then all of the sudden we saw these two boys go down in cut off jean shorts, vests and farmer hats. The only people that would do something like that would be Mike and Kyle. It was. We had just waited an hour for these kids to come down the finish and they were just barely starting. It was so funny to watch though. We got really hyper after seeing them go down. Keep in mind that there is a mud pool right behind us. We wet crazy on each other. We filled up cups of mud and just threw them all over each other and splashed it everywhere. It was soo fun! Mud is Fun.

We finally saw the boys come down and they splashed mud on us from the pool and crawled through, got their picture taken then, being boys, ran over to us and gave us big huge mud hugs. It was nice. If we weren't muddy before, we sure were now. It got everywhere but it was so much fun.
Hugged by all of that.
That night we went to The Rocket Summer concert! It was a lot of fun but we didn't know a lot of their songs so we didn't stay the whole time and I didn't feel bad about it. Then we went back to our apartment and curled Mike's hair. yes. In ringlits. Tiny little curls. Once we were finished we combed it a little and it turned into the most awesome fro ever! Then he just HAD to put a head band on. Boo. By the end of the night he looked like Jimmy Neutron. Too Funny.

That night we-well Jenna played Call of Duty with Mike and Kyle. Who are addicted to this game in the most sickening way possible and JENNA BEAT THEM! Both of them. It was so funny and a great accomplishment. :)

We finished the weekend off by having a relaxing sleep-in day, only to wake up at 1pm to find our toaster had been stolen. The culprits: D2. Revenge is on the way.
Then we went to Wal-mart and got ourselves some aprons, puffed painted them and then, being the nice friends we are, made dinner for Mike and Kyle.
Marinated-yummy chicken, real mashed potatoes and some Broccoli.
It was definitely time for a real meal which probably made it taste that much better.
It was a great weekend and now we go back to school until about Thanksgiving without a break. Yikes.

  2. Woof. Good thing! I'd probably be dead. I got used to those furlough days.
