Summer of Dreams

This summer has been a great one, however moved way too fast! June started out with hanging out with friends and enjoying the new found freedom of having no school. Not to mention the fact that I never had to return to High School. I was done! June was full of adventures and all those things summer brings.

Then July hit and was gone before I ever knew what day it was. It started with 4 days at Girls Camp. This was my last year I would attend camp and I got to be a YCL or "Youth Camp Leader." Girls Camp is always a blast and full of adventures. This year was nothing short of that. Some of those included Rope courses, underwear on the flag pole, snipe hunting, black girl fro's, and the casual pink baseball cap decorated to make it even cuter. :) I returned, and of course was sick. See Sick Commercials post.

The next week was my Senior Trip! After much planning and attempts to gather friends, apparently none of the girls I'd hung out with in High School thought a Senior Trip was necessary. I found this a little crazy. So without further questioning my friend Lyndsey and I went on our own. We drove all the way to St. George by ourselves. :) (That's far, I know.) This vacation started out perfectly. It was burning hot, and the pool was just outside, we had the condo to ourselves and no parents to tell us to be home. :) But these small perfections soon became irrelevant. We enjoyed our first day at the pool, roaming the streets and going to The Pizza Factory. MMM... The next day we thought, You know what? Lets be righteous and go to the temple! So we wake up in the morning, get ready for our righteous activities and we get out to the car- Uvada or Uvade- and it won't start. I immediately call me dad and find out the resort will just jump our car so we got that fixed and headed to the temple and from then on we just hoped and prayed that the car would start. Well it did that whole day and we were feeling very lucky. The next day we decided we wanted to do some Henna. After much searching and to no luck, we were going to leave the craft store when it happens again. Uvade dies. In a panic, I call my mom, feeling very stranded. Very Very Very long story short... after 2 hours of scorching sun and a very nice Uncle, the car starts and I am livid. I was soo mad. Lynds and I ended up renting 3 movies- watched them all. They sucked, all of them. The WORST movies I've ever seen and unfortunately I can't even remember what they are called to warn you NOT to see them. Sorry! Anyways, We got home in SLC eventually. We started the car once and drove all the way home- never turning it off. (Yes, we got gas and lunch with the car running) While it was an awfully stressful trip, it was soo much fun to get a little vacation with Lynds! :)

Two days later, my entire family headed out to California. I had been looking forward to this vacation for months! Seriously, my obsession with the beach is unreal and I hadn't been for about 5 years. It was time. We headed out at about 6am to pick up my cousin Mckenzie from EFY in Provo. My dad is a morning person but not... We drove around Byu while he was screaming to the huge masses of 14 and 15 year olds, "Have you seen Mckenzie?!" "Mckenzie!!!" It was highly entertaining. After about an 8 hour drive and the rollercoaster at Buffalo Bills- "Desperado"- we made it! The first thing we did, after checking in our resort, was meet my moms ENTIRE family at the beach for dinner. However, as most know, California is not Utah! The driving is awful and everything is crowded and then we added that to driving all day. Lets just say, there were some not so happy campers. Anyways, the trip consisted of lots of beach, shopping, whale/dolphin watching, movies, baseball games and lots of family bonding! It was a lot of fun and I absolutely LOVE California and everything about it. The hustle and bustle, the crazy go-go-go attitude. Just everything. I would consider moving there. It was a lot of fun and a very fun last family event before I moved out!!
