Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay

This is about to possibly take over for my cheesiest blog post ever. So if you don't like cheese-skip it.
Yesterday, Tuesday September 20 was a huge adventure. Monday, as seen on my previous blog post, was not that great of a day. I was having a rough time and just needed a break. Then I got one.
Once upon a time there was this boy that was the cutest and spoiled me rotten, not to be confused with previously blogged about boys, this boys name was Mike.

Mike and I have... a past. It is such a long story and most people don't want to know. Those who know the whole story, well then you'd be Jenna, so other then that you just need to know we have a past. The most recent part of that past was when we dated all of Senior year of high school. It was great-loved every second of it! But we broke up about a month and half or so before school ended but stayed friends...for the most part.
Anyway, he is up here in the land of Logan. And he is keeping me sane. :)
After my bad day, and somewhat one of his (apparently I put a lot of people in bad moods on Monday or it might have just been a day of bad days for everyone.) But, it doesn't matter because this is about Tuesday.
I went to my normal classes, well one of them and decided I'd learned enough about the Founding Fathers and skipped out on my Institutions class. At about noon I headed home and Mike texted me to call him when I was done. I called him. Right that second.
He said he was coming over to make lunch and put it in our lunchboxes and we were going.
Where we were going was still unknown to me.
We grabbed a few things and he told me to grab my swimsuit.
I was in complete panic.
What was he going to make me do now?!
Mike is notorious for making me do things I never thought I'd do. He makes me be daring and spontaneous.
I obliged and we headed on our way.
He started driving through Logan Canyon and since I had never really done that I was completely lost.
My lack of a sense of direction was not helping me figure out where we were going.
Then it hit me. I HAD been through this canyon before!
On our way home from...
BEAR LAKE!
That was it. We were headed to Bear Lake for what turned out to be the most perfect day.
I got so excited. Like SO excited!
We got there and walked to his cabin. Well one of them. I can't keep track of how many "second houses" this kid has.
Anyways, this one just happened to be right on the beach of Bear Lake. So gorgeous. The water is so so blue. Like sparkly, glassy, blue. So So pretty.
We had our picnic on the grass and then I had to pee. Uh oh.
Him being a sweetheart called his dad, mom, grandpa and possibly grandma? I lost track. Just to get into the cabin so I didn't wet my pants. What a cutie right?
I peed. and then it began.
As much as he won't admit it and tries not to make it obvious.
Mikes a Romancer. And I'm obsessed with Romance.
It makes for some good times.
So, we grabbed out swimsuits that I had been forced to bring, put them on and headed down to the water. It wasn't as cold as I was expecting but let me tell you, it was cold. Very cold.
We started walking in and it got muddy, soggy and gross. Bleh.
Here's where Romance act #1 comes in.
Him, wanting me to be in the water and have an adventure, gets me in a canoe, pulls it out in the lake while he walks through the disgusting floor and gets me to a non disgusting place. He literally picks me up, out of the canoe and into the freezing water. yeah. He makes me get wet only enough then pulls me back in on the canoe after I threw a fit about not being outdoorsy and not being able to get back in. He wasn't going to take no for an answer. I got in, he pulled me ashore, safe and sound.
The best part is that since I am just sooo graceful, I somehow made the canoe smack him in the shins with the weight of 1000 men. yeah, my bad.
We changed out of our cold, wet swimsuits and watched the water from a deck on their cabin.
Then my favorite part came.
He suggested we walk out to the end of this dock and watch the water.
So we went, barefoot, jacket-less.
We walked to the end with colonies of butterflies EVERYWHERE! Seriously, I've never seen so many in my life. And if you know me, you've learned that recently I have noticed that butterflies are so romantic.
Needless to say, it was romantic.
We continued to the end and found concrete steps to sit on right on the water. We sat there forever, watching the water, talking and realizing that it doesn't get much better then that. I could have stayed there forever. He was just being such a sweetheart. He says all the right things, does all the right things, he even let me use him as a backrest while he sat there in pain. I seem to do that to him a lot. All I could think of the whole time, well not the whole time but they kept coming back to me.
 1. I had "sittin' on the dock of the bay" stuck in my head for obvious reasons...
 2. This looked like a scene from a movie namely this one..
It was perfect. Perfact.
and 3. which some of you may want to skip or whatever and I can't believe I'm doing this but
 3.  that I loved him. Yeah. Said it. Get over it.
He just does so much for me. I have one bad day and what does he do? plans an entire surprise day for me at Bear Lake! Like really? How do you not love that? I don't know.
All I know is I'm the luckiest. He tries to say differently but it's not true.
Anyway..
We finally decided we should walk back through the butterfly field and get back.
He was worried I was too cold since I was shaking. But I'm always cold and it doesn't bug me.
He felt bad. That sweetheart.

We went back and went to dinner at the best pizza place at Bear Lake and if it wasn't for Firehouse- in Utah.
For some reason, we decided we were going to eat the whole pizza, just the two of us.
Bad and a good idea.
We were sooo full and could have blown up but it was so funny and I'm not sure either of us have eaten that much in our lives. At least not in front of each other. :)
Who sits on the same side of the table as each other?!

Then we went back to the cabin. He grabbed his computer, some blankets and a movie. What movie you ask?
Yeah, Way funny. It was so funny to watch this with him. I loved to see what he saw watching this. The dancing guy in flippers, the ugly old lady, the funny lines that I otherwise wouldn't have even thought about.
It was the best.
The movie ended and we turned it off and saw the stars.
Most people don't know but I am obsessed with stars and star gazing.
This had to have been the most perfect night for such a thing.
They were so bright and there was such a lack of light that we could see millions.
Not only that but the Milky Way too. What? Yeah. We could see the freaking galaxy. It was incredible.
After a while we decided it was time to go back to the real world since I had homework.
We started the drive home and spent the rest of the car ride trying to pick "Our Song" since for some reason, after 7 years, we never ended up with a song. I'm not sure how that happened. Especially since I'd say we are both pretty musical. We came up with a handful and I liked the one he picked and he liked the one I picked so I'm still not sure if we decided on one but I am sure that we both have a lot of songs that remind us of the other and there are tons of songs that could potentially be our song. I guess that is what happens when you basically grow up together.
We then got back and he helped me write a paper with his impressive journalism skills.
He just kept saying, "whoa! don't get too comma happy!" or "that doesn't make sense-do this."
Needless to say, I'd hire him as my tutor.
So that was my perfect day and the perfect boy. He is just such a sweetheart and I can't even explain it.
Everything went perfect...then I find out that when he left my apartment at 3am in the bitter cold, he goes out to find his car booted. Then doesn't even come back in to get me because he wanted me to get some sleep as if I hadn't already fallen asleep on him for the last 2 hours.
What a sweetie.
